The Salt Lake County Fair was organized in 1936 with the first fair being held in 1937. Previous to the organization of the fair it was roving exposition held in various towns and communities within the county including, Draper, West Jordan, Magna, the State Fairgrounds and Midvale. It was also known as Black and White Day, County Day and Farm Bureau day before being organized and established in 1936. In 1937 the fair was held in Murray on county property that eventually developed into the County Fairgrounds. The fair stayed in Murray until 1998, and was moved to its current location, the Salt Lake County Equestrian Park in 1999.
